Jobs: 2 Positions at Marist College Media Arts Department (USA)

The Media Arts Department in the School of Communication and the Arts
at Marist College invites applications for two full-time positions to
teach in the B.A. in Media Studies and Production major, which
includes concentrations in Interactive Media & Game Design and
Television & Film, starting Fall of 2014. One position is
tenure-track; the other is a professional lecturer. Review of

positions are filled. The Media Arts Department in the School of
Communication and the Arts offers a B.A. in Media Studies and
Production with concentrations in Film & Television and Interactive

Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualified candidates for the tenure-track position will hold a Ph.D ,
M.F.A. or other terminal degree in Media Studies, Communication,
Human-computer Interaction, or a relevant field, and have teaching
and/or professional experience. Candidates with significant work
toward the terminal degree completion may be considered. The
tenure-track position carries a teaching load of 21 credits a year,
with expectations of continuing research and/or creative work in the
candidate’s area of expertise leading to tenure and promotion, and
service to the College, including but not limited to student advising
and serving on committees. The qualified candidate will be willing to
teach courses online when appropriate.

Qualified candidates for the professional lecturer position will hold
a Masters degree and/or have significant professional experience in
media or video production. Expectations for the professional lecturer
position include a teaching load of 24 credits a year and service to
the College, including but not limited to student advising and serving
on committees. The qualified candidate will be willing to teach
courses online when appropriate.

Qualifications:

Both candidates should be able to teach the introductory media
creation course, which introduces students to tools for designing
digital media. Other teaching assignments might include such courses
as Media Aesthetics, Video Production, Interactive Media, Game Design,
and Media Theory.
