The UW-Whitewater College of Arts and Communication seeks applications for an instructor in its Media Arts and Game Development (MAGD) Program. This position is a one-year position either full-time or part-time beginning in the Fall 2014 semester.
MAGD is an innovative interdisciplinary program that emphasizes the use of digital technology for the conceptualization and development of computer based multi-media applications. The program promotes the critical analysis and design of interactive informational media, games and other forms of narrative and/or expressive digital applications. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the instruction of the MAGD foundational course sequence, which encompasses multimedia, interactive media, visual design, programming, and content development for web-based instructional and commercial applications, as well as advanced courses in their area of expertise. Courses to teach may include Intro to MAGD, Web Development, Flash, Game Studies and Design, and Advanced Team Projects. Experience with one or more of the following is also required: Flash/ActionScript, HTML/CSS, Processing, Javascript, C++, C#, Boo.
The position requires an MS, MA, or an MFA degree. Preferred qualifications include a person with industry experience in game development, web development or multimedia production and/or teaching experience. Salary is competitive.
