Applications are invited for the position of Professor in Games Research at Abertay University. Based within the Division of Games and Arts in the School of Arts, Media and Computer Games you will have a leadership role in research in the division’s core themes, particularly in the use of games, simulations and interactive systems as tools to promote scientific exploration, cultural understanding, and learning. The successful candidate will have a record of world-leading research on digital games and interactive media, securing funding for advanced research, collaboration across disciplines, supervision of postgraduate research, and peer-reviewed publication with national and international impact.

Academic staff in the division has pursued research on a diverse range of themes, including games with purpose, affective computing, graphics programming, interactive design in the performing arts, experimental game jams, and game aesthetics. Recent research and knowledge exchange collaborations include projects with Microsoft UK, and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, 20th Century Fox, the Victoria and Albert Museum of London, the National Theatre of Scotland, and the Scottish Dance Theatre.
