Dear all,
IULM University is proud to present the very first edition of the MILANO GAME FESTIVAL, an innovative event that will appeal to game, film, and art lovers looking for a different kind of immersive experience.
Taking place in the Contemporary Exhibition Hall of the IULM Campus place between September 8 – 12 2016, the MILANO FILM FESTIVAL consists of five evenings of indie gameplay structured along the lines of a film festival.
Part of the XX1 Triennale International Exhibition, the MILANO GAME FESTIVAL exemplifies the logic of “Design After Design” in digital art and interactive storytelling. A celebration of a new kind of authorial design – bold, intransigent, and radically independent – the MILANO GAME FESTIVAL is curated by Pietro Righi Riva, the Coordinator of the new M.A. GAME/PLAY. Design, Direction & Production at IULM and founder of indie studio Santa Ragione (Fotonica, MirrorMoon EP, Wheels of Aurelia).
Featured games: Abzù, Gorogoa, Night in the Woods, Future Unfolding, and The Town of Light. The developers will introduce each game and discuss their game philosophy with the public in a Q&A session. Additionally, each night, the visitors will be able to play a selection of never-seen before experimental games developed by internationally renowned authors.
The first in a series of Fall/Winter 2016 events about game design organized by IULM, the MILANO GAME FESTIVAL will take place concurrently to the MILANO FILM FESTIVAL.
