Job: Professor of Game Development at SCAD Atlanta and SCAD Savannah

SCAD seeks candidates for full-time faculty positions in game development. There are positions open both for the Savannah and Atlanta campuses.

SCAD Savannah

SCAD Savannah seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position in the School of Film, Digital Media and Performing Arts teaching game development. Qualified candidates should have the terminal degree or its equivalent in game development or a related field. A strong portfolio that reflects a high degree of knowledge in game programming and/or game art and design is required. Candidates should have a minimum of three years experience in the game industry and should be able to teach courses in game design, game art and content creation, game programming, as well the overall game development process. These include production of 2D/3D game art assets, game design theory, environment and level design, game scripting, basic game systems programming, and game prototyping. Candidates should be familiar with the historical evolution of games. Ideal candidates should be familiar with developing games on 2-3 platforms, including consoles, PC, mobile and social networking games. Candidates should be familiar with the game development life cycle and methodologies such as agile development. Familiarity with game prototyping tools, game engines and the ability to write scripts within these engines is desirable. Experience with C++, C#, and ActionScript is preferred. Experience with one or more shipping game titles is preferred. Experience developing elearning courses and/or teaching in an online format is desirable.

SCAD Atlanta

SCAD Atlanta seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position in game development. Qualified candidates should have a terminal degree or its equivalent in game development or a related field. A strong portfolio that reflects a high degree of knowledge in game design and development is required. Candidates should have a minimum of three years experience in the game industry and should be able to teach in at least three or more of the following areas: game design, design documentation, narrative content design, C++, database design, game engine scripting, game design theory or level design. Familiarity with game prototyping tools, character and environment modeling and methods is advantageous. Experience with one or more shipped game titles is preferred. Experience in C++ is a plus.
