The Faculty of Arts & Media Technologies are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Games Design due to the growth and development of the Games portfolio.

The key duties of the role-holder will be to contribute to the delivery, development and administrative support of Games courses, which will include the academic and personal support of students.

A first degree in a Games Design or related subject is essential as is a PhD (or willingness to obtain) as well as a teaching qualification and membership of the Higher Education Academy (or willingness to achieve an accredited HEA standard teaching qualification). A professional membership would be desirable.

It would be expected that the successful candidate would have an awareness of academic and professional developments in Games Design as well as of the professional developments within learning and teaching. Relevant teaching and course delivery experience, as well as being able to deliver learning and quality assurance improvements would be essential.

Negotiating and influencing skills will be vital, as will the ability to work as part of a team, including co-operation with colleagues and students. Excellent organisational, oral and written communication skills are essential as well as good customer services skills and the ability to travel both within the UK and internationally, as well as being able to work during evenings and weekends

Salary in the range of £32,751 – £37,990 per annum*.
*It is expected that a new appointee will commence at the bottom of the grade.
