Degree and area of specialization:
Earned doctoral degree by start date in digital media technology or related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: Evidence of scholarly activity and potential for establishing an independent research program. Ability to work collaboratively with
Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 teachers in schools is desirable. Experience with studying youth learning with digital media in or outside of schools is desirable. Experience developing and researching tools for learning is desirable. Experience with diverse populations is desirable.

Principal duties:
The Department of Curriculum & Instruction’s Digital Media Program seeks a scholar who will contribute to the Program’s distinctive emphasis on combining research on the critical cultural aspects of educational technology practice with contemporary design approaches that come from research on game studies, digital literacy studies, and educational technology. We seek a colleague who will conduct research of nationally recognized quality and contribute to the teaching and service missions of the Department. Teaching responsibilities include courses on critical analyses of educational and digital media and technology practices, design and development of digital media and technologies, and research methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Engage in an active and nationally recognized program of research.
2. Teach predominantly graduate courses in digital media and technology
3. Advise graduate students at the masters and doctoral levels.
4. Contribute to the program in digital media
5. Participate in department, school, and university faculty governance and service activities.
