4th Workshop on Mobile Gaming @ ICEC 2012
Sept. 26-29, 2012 Bremen, Germany

This workshop provides a forum for researchers and practitioners in the field of pervasive, mobile, and location-based gaming and beyond. The thematic focus is on mobile games and other social mobile applications that take location and context, as well as the players’ movements as important design parameters. The workshop particularly addresses mobile game designers, developers, and game scholars who are concerned with current and future issues of mobile game design, development, staging, and evaluation. It aims to span the boundaries between play, research, and business. The focus is particularly on authoring tools for mobile games and mixed realities.

• Mobile game design and patterns of game play
• Mobile augmented reality and mixed reality
• Authoring solutions and game creators
• Producing mobile games
• Interfaces and interaction techniques for mobile games
• Development processes and architectures
• Complexity of hardware, software, infrastructure
• Mobile games and mobile projectors
• Casual vs engaging mobile games
• Gamification, Serious Games, Games with a purpose
• Context-sensitive game play and technology
• Market strategies and business models for mobile games


Submission types are
• Full Technical Papers (max 10 pages)
• Short Technical Papers (max 6 pages)
• Position Papers (max. 4 pages)

Submissions must be in Springer LNCS format and submitted as a blinded PDF File via Easychair.

All submissions will be peer reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Accepted papers will be presented at the workshop and published in the ICEC 2012 Conference proceedings as technical papers or position papers via Springer and archived in the Springer Link digital library.
