Japanese DiGRA

About the Chapter

Digital Games Research Association Japan (DiGRA Japan) is a nonprofit academic society recognized by the Science Council of Japan, whose work focuses on digital games research and associated activities. DiGRA Japan was established in 2006 in Tokyo, and has over 300 members in 2019.

DiGRA Japan held the DiGRA International Conference: DiGRA 2007 at the University of Tokyo and DiGRA 2019 at the Ritsumeikan University.

The DiGRA Japan Board has held the Annual Conference from 2010, and Research Committee has been holding the Summer Conference since 2013. Editorial Committee has been editing and publishing the Journal of Digital Games Research since 2007. The Public Relations Committee has been promoting DiGRA Japan’s activities through the official website, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Mailing List for members. International Committee has been starting to promote interaction among the international Digital Games Research Associations from 2016.

DiGRA Japan has been giving awards to excellent research members from 2011.
