DiGRA Italia 2017: Testi, contesti e pretesti videoludici (May 12, Milan)

We are proud to announce the schedule for DiGRA Italia 2017: Testi, contesti e pretesti videoludici. The conference is co-organised by Paolo Ruffino and Matteo Bittanti. It will be held at IULM, in Milan, on May 12th, and it will the first meeting of the Italian DiGRA group. Participation is free. Here is the full list of speakers.

As you can see, the conference will be predominantly in Italian. However, there are good reasons to join us on May 12th, even for international guests. Milan is now an exciting and vibrant place for game studies. Last year, two game art events were hosted at the XXI Triennale di Milano: Game Video/Art: A Survey and Milano Game Festival. IULM is about to launch a Game Design MA programme (taught in English). Designer studios and artists working with video games are booming in the city and its surrounding area, proposing innovative experiments with game design.

In short, if you are interested in the study and design of games, Milan should be on your radar – you might even consider taking a short course in Italian.
