“Games and Society” is a 2-day conference organised by students of Uppsala University’s Master’s Programme in Game Design happening on January 8th and 9th, 9:00-19:00 CET.
Our event aims to provide an interdisciplinary perspective into the relationship between games and society in on-going research, industry practices, and more through various invited speakers. The topics covered include creating lasting engagement in children’s games, the ethnography of Final Fantasy XIV, how games can enhance empathy, and much more.
All talks will be English and attendance is completely free. The event can be attended either in-person in Visby, Gotland inside the Rindi Castle, or through Zoom (which requires registration through a track’s Eventbrite).
