Istanbul Bilgi University, School of Communication Design invites applications for 3 full-time faculty members (two (2) assistant professors, one (1) associate professor) for the new Game Design and Development program which will be opening in the 2014 – 2015 fall semester.
Qualified candidates should have a PhD in a field related to game design and development, have experience of digital games development, and exhibit a compelling record of publications, and strong potential for research in this area. A gaming industry experience would be an advantage.
A successful candidate will teach undergraduate introductory and upper division courses such as game programming, games engines, AI in games, mobile and social games, and game design. Candidates are also expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the game design and development major.

Established in 1997 the School of Communication Design focuses on developing communication in progressive, effective and capable ways through design studies and practices in various media and environments. Our goal is to explore communication in its broadest context through information systems, visualization, 3-D modeling, and simulations. The new Game Design and Development program will be the first of its kind in Turkey, and is founded on the recognition of the importance of digital games to society and the economy. We aim to educate game design professionals who will explore the full potential of games in entertainment, education, and social issues while answering the needs of the developing gaming industry in Turkey.
