Tenure-Track Position, Assistant Professor Level — Digital Culture

The Department of Communication Studies and Multimedia at McMaster University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin July 1, 2011. The appointment will be in the communication studies program. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in digital culture plus one or more of the following: environment and communication, gender/feminist theory in communication, alternative media/media activism, or communication policy/law.

The current minimum salary at the rank of Assistant Professor is $60,997 per annum. McMaster University is a research-intensive university and the department of Communication Studies and Multimedia engages in professional and academic teaching, scholarly research and new media arts production. The Department of Communication Studies and Multimedia brings together scholars and artists engaged with diverse communities of practice.

The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate level in communication studies, in the MA Program in Communication and New Media; and will participate in the development of a PhD Program.
