The above-mentioned position is located jointly in the Aalto School of Art and Design’s Department of Media (http://media.taik.fi/) and the Aalto School of Science’s Department of Media Technology (http://media.tkk.fi/en/). This new post is expected to entail responsibility for development of the broad area of computer games within Aalto University. Finland’s contemporary game industry also provides a stimulating and innovative context within which future industrial collaborations are expected.
The tenure track position in Computer Games relates directly to the education and research in the two departments in the field of games and the successful candidate will be expected to take part in the departments’ research as well as to plan, develop and coordinate related education within the departments at both Masters and Doctoral level. Currently the two departments collaborate in several strategic areas of new media, including computer games. One purpose of the joint position is to enhance this cooperation.
