The highly regarded, expanding and well established Games department at Brunel University London is seeking to recruit a new lecturer. The appointee will be expected to teach across a range of games modules that are all practice facing, but with strong theoretical integration. There will be an expectation that the appointee brings a games focused research interest to the department with the clear potential to produce world class outputs.

The department prides itself on the excellence of its teaching, close relationships with its students and an extremely proactive, hardworking, collegial atmosphere that is all built around a love of and passion for games.

The department has just launched three new strands to its undergraduate games programme (art, technology and games studies) and the extra role is needed to help support the art and/or technical strand. However, the teaching focus of the department is on experiential design for entertainment purposes and not on software training or programming. There is an expectation that any appointee will have software and/or art skills, but not necessarily highly developed technical capacities.

The key attributes of the successful candidate will be the ability to engage with and teach practical skills whilst also adding to the research portfolio of the department.

Closing date for applications:  18 July 2016
