Part-time faculty position in Game Studies-Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA

Berklee College of Music is looking for a part-time faculty member for the 2015-16 academic year to teach two sections per semester of a course entitled “Digital Narrative Theory and Practice.” The successful applicant will be able to teach concepts about and basic production of interactive fiction and game design as examples of interactive media to students who are primarily interested in video game scoring or other careers in the music industry. The syllabus for course is available online.

Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with

  •               A PhD in a related field
  •              Academic and/or scholarly expertise in game studies or digital culture
  •             Creative practice in game design or new media
  •             Teaching experience at the post-secondary level
