About Me

I am Yekta and based in Dublin, Ireland. I’m a researcher, visual designer, and John & Pat Hume Scholar currently pursuing a PhD in Media Studies at Maynooth University. With over a decade of experience in visual design and new media direction, my work focuses on the intersection of cultural adaptation and video game design. I have lectured on topics such as digital marketing, interactive storytelling, and video game design. Additionally, I have served as a cultural advisor for games like “1001 Nights” and “30 Birds”. My current PhD research, titled “The CultureCraft Model: A Creative Process Model for Cultural Adaptation in Video Game Design,” aims to create a toolkit for game designers and game development teams to sensitively incorporate cultural elements into game design while enhancing their creative process.
